At the east end of the island, ‘Sconset, as it is called by the locals, is a beautiful village with a unique history.
Here, under the protection of the Sankaty Light, are charming rose-covered cottages, gorgeous gardens and fabulous ocean views. The village contains a small grocery store, a post office, a liquor store, three restaurants and a chapel. The ‘Sconset Casino screens movies in the summer. Tennis and golf are also available.
