Bike decorated with the American flag to celebrate Indepence Day on Nantucket

Independence Day 2015

Town---Main-Street---Memorial-Day-blog-postNothing says summer like a gorgeous day at the beach, a fun cookout and fireworks! Today Nantucket Town is beautifully dressed in red, white and blue. The shop keeper’s windows have patriotic themes, the fountain on Main, the Pacific Bank at the head of the street, and scads of antique homes are all adorned with flags and buntings. Down town the annual 4th of July pie eating contest took place. Not sure who won but, lots of happy faces were covered with pie! The antique fire trucks had their big water fight with hoses spraying the children who dared to get close. It’s really summer now!
